60 Seconds with our Youth Ambassador

Meet Emily, our Youth Student Ambassador here at Perpetual Fostering. Emily writes a weekly post for our blog but this time, we quizzed her on what life is like as a student and as Perpetual Fostering’s Youth Ambassador.

What is it like to be a student?
It’s challenging but extremely enjoyable at the same time. I like the amount of independence I’m given as a college student, as it allows me to become responsible and it encourages me to work harder to achieve my goals.

What do you think makes a successful student?
Hard work is key. To get the outcomes you want, you have to put the time and effort in. Having a lot of patience is also important because work can sometimes be difficult, and it might take a little longer for you to understand certain aspects of a topic.

How do you manage your studying with the work you do as Youth Ambassador?
I always make sure I manage my time effectively and I set myself deadlines so that I achieve what I need to achieve within a certain time period. I also think it’s important to give yourself a break every once in a while, this is how I ensure I don’t overdo it.

What do you enjoy most about being Perpetual Fostering’s Youth Ambassador?
I think it’s great that the role provides me with the opportunity to take on new challenges and develop skills that help me in different aspects of my life.

If you could have one superhero power, what would it be?
I would love to have the power of Super Speed, then I could get all my homework done in no time!
